We're just a day away from Google's big fall hardware event, where the company will formally unveil the Pixel 6 series. While the vanilla Pixel 6 will succeed last year's Pixel 5, the Pixel 6 Pro will be a proper flagship that is likely to give the best Android phones from Samsung, OnePlus, and Xiaomi a run for their money. As confirmed by Google already, the Pixel 6 series phones will be powered by its custom Tensor chipset, which is expected to offer similar performance to Qualcomm's Snapdragon 888 and Samsung's Exynos 2100 chips. The Pixel 6 phones will also bring significant upgrades in the camera department. The two phones will use a 50MP main sensor with improved low-light performance. The Pro model is said to include an impressive 48MP periscope lens with 4x optical zoom. Another area where the upcoming Pixel 6 phones will be a step-up over previous Pixel phones will be charging speed. They are rumored to support 30W wired charging and 23W wireless charging speeds. Meanwhile, Madden NFL 22 is the best-selling game of the month. What you need to know The September 2021 NPD report is now available. The PS5 was the best-selling console in the U.S. in September, in dollar sales and units sold. This breaks a 33 month streak held by the Nintendo Switch as the best-selling console in units sold. The PS5 just broke the Nintendo Switch's 33 month consecutive run as the best-selling console in the U.S in units sold, according to NPD analyst Mat Piscatella. While the Nintendo Switch has been outsold in terms of dollar sales prior to this, this is the first time since Nov. 2018 that a console other than the Nintendo Switch took the lead in month with units sold. For game sales, Madden NFL 22 was the best-selling game of the month, with FIFA 22 and NBA 2K22 following at second and third place. Blizzard Entertainment's Diablo 2: Resurrected and Bethesda Softworks' Deathloop arive at the #5 and #6 places, respectively. September 2021 NPD: Here are the...

We're still waiting on a proper Android 12 release, but hopefully not for long. Android 12 technically arrived on October 4, when Android developers released its source code to the Android Open Source Project that day. Unfortunately, that build didn't actually appear on Pixel phones then. Unlike in previous years, when Pixels had true "stock Android," Pixel phones will have properly personalized features on its OS. In a statement to Android Central, a Google rep told us that "We're putting the finishing touches on a special release with Pixel-exclusive and Pixel-first experiences on Android 12. This will roll out to Pixel users in the next few weeks." So even though Android 12 is done, we have a bit longer to wait. "Next few weeks" is vague, but we expect it to arrive in mid-to-late October. At the earliest, it could launch during the Pixel 6 event on October 19, or perhaps not until the Pixel 6 actually ships (we don't have an official date yet). We expect Android 12 will arrive ...

Keep talking Jabra Elite 7 Pro $200 at Amazon $200 at Best Buy Pros Excellent audio quality, including ANC Great fit and comfort Outstanding call quality Reliable button controls Great value for the price Cons Color options aren't as nice More slippery when wet No multipoint right now Yet again, Jabra finds itself in the conversation with the best wireless earbuds you can get your hands on with the Elite 7 Pro. By getting the fit and comfort down to the best design the company managed thus far, all-around performance speaks for iself, and that includes outstanding clarity on phone calls. Keep playing Jabra Elite 7 Active $180 at Best Buy Pros Excellent audio quality, including ANC Great fit and comfort Very good durability Reliable button controls Nicer color options Slightly cheaper Cons Call quality isn't as good Don't submerge them in water No multipoint yet Jabra may not have carved out a different design for the Elite 7 Active, but it did utilize...

Jabra makes sure these earbuds fit right in with the active crowd. It used to be that Jabra would never release two Elite pairs of earbuds at the same time. If you wanted to go with the "Active" pair, you would need to wait until they came after the regular pair had their time to shine. Jabra reversed that this time by releasing the Elite 7 Active at the same time as the Elite 7 Pro. They sport a lot of similarities between them, which means the Elite 7 Active are worthy of attention given how good their siblings already are. However, there is a simple focus here that should appeal to a subset of people. If you're an active person and don't necessarily care about phone call clarity, read on to find out why these may be for you. Jabra finds the right fit for most ears to go with everything else it delivers. For several years now, Jabra has been consistent in how it has approached wireless earbuds. The combination of audio performance and reliability has positioned the company in the upper echelon year after year. When it's time to refresh things, Jabra usually aims straight for the design to deal with concerns over fit and comfort. That was clearly a major motivation behind the Elite 7 Pro, arguably the current flagship despite the ongoing presence of the Elite 85t. The Elite 7 Pro also share the distinction with the Elite 7 Active, which are basically identical in every way save for a couple of design changes. To stand out as among Jabra's best, the Elite 7 Pro had to balance out in all the right ways. The one thing lacking from the Pixel circle is a wearable and it's about time Google fixes that. Google has been in the smartwatch game since 2014 with the LG G Watch and Samsung Gear Live running Android Wear. Still, you might be surprised to find out that it has never had its own branded wearable. We hear rumblings each year that Google is releasing a Pixel Watch, but it still hasn't. Revamps of its phone OS with Android 12 and the wearable platform with Wear OS 3, however, now means 2021 is the perfect time for Google to release a Pixel Watch. Samsung currently has a monopoly on the latest iteration of Wear OS with its recently launched Galaxy Watch 4 series and as great as Samsung is at many things, this smartwatch isn't shaping up to be the Wear OS savior many fans hoped for. As of now, Google is leaving many of its long-time wearable partners in the dark on exactly when the update to Wear OS 3 will come. Doing so only makes the platform more reliant on Samsung. There are many...
